USB drives are essentially commodities. You can often get a perfectly fine USB drive for free. It will do pretty much most of what you need. No complaints.
However – a USB drive is one more thing to keep track of. As a student, I have all my school files on one USB drive. This drive is often misplaced. Just as a favorite pen eventually gets misplaced and often lost, USB drives are likewise portable enough to “get legs”. Furthermore, they’re often left in the USB port. If said port is in a university PC lab, say goodbye to said USB drive.
The Pico’s true value is in being both unobtrusive AND easy to “pair” with another indispensable accessory: your car keys. As a keychain, the Pico adds almost no additional bulk. It won’t add an extra ring, or fray, or scratch your dash, or transform your keys from pocketable to unwieldy. Other USB drives can do these things.
Think of it as another key: house key + car key + LIFE key. Only the Pico drives have gotten small enough, and sturdy enough, to be comfortably added to your key set.
The metal case is confidence-inspiring, especially because the integral keyring loop is metal itself (it won’t wear out before the drive does). Of course it will scratch, but nothing stays shiny forever.
As for performance, it works fine. I don’t especially value super-fast transfer speeds. This one seems to do fine. In any case, transfer speeds don’t matter if I don’t have the drive with me in the first place.
This is a fast, and durable usb stick with a good price. You could get a bigger stick, and certainly there are ruggized usb sticks. But I can’t argue with the price for its features.
notes
1) It’s very small. (Which could be good or bad depending on your use.)
2) It’s kind of hard to push it in to your usb solt, but it won’t fall out.
This is my third thumb drive. All the previous ones broke because they were cheap plastic. I got this because it was metal and very small, so i could put it on my key chain. It has lived upto my expectations.
On top of all that it has a very fast data transfer speed.
Super talent is doing a great job.
